Plum dumplings

It's my mother's recipe: it's very easy and expeditious.

  • For dumplings
  • 750 g washed and dried plums with a kitchen towel
  • 350 g flour
  • 2 glasses of water (500 ml)
  • 1 or
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • For breadcrumbs
  • 10 tablespoons breadcrumbs
  • 75 g butter (or oil)
  • 4-5 tablespoons sugar

Servings: 6

Preparation time: less than 60 minutes


Bring salt water to a boil and when it boils add 200 g of flour; make a dough that is turned over on the board and left to cool. Add the egg and the remaining 150 g of flour. A roll is formed from which 1.5 cm thick slices are cut. Dress each plum in dough.

Boil the water with a pinch of salt and boil and add the dumplings; boil over low heat until it rises to the surface.

Meanwhile, prepare the breadcrumbs. Melt the butter in a non-stick pan and add the breadcrumbs; fry until golden. Put in a bowl and mix well with sugar.

Remove the dumplings and drain, then roll in breadcrumbs. They are taken out on a plate.

Serve hot.
