A study shows that chewing gum before a test helps jog memory

For all you readers who still have to take the SATs/GMATs/MCATs/LSATs and all those other alphabet soups, here's a handy tip.

Researchers have found that chewing gum before a test helps blood circulate to your brain, jogging your memory for a quick surge at the beginning of your test taking.

Subjects who chewed gum for five minutes before a test rememembered "25-to-50 percent more items than the controls," the study found. The memory surge only lasts some 20 minutes, but hey, 20 minutes is a lot. Just power on through, kids (and study hard).
