  1. Be sure to prepare the dough at least 2 hours before you want to start preparing the pizza so it has time to rise
  2. Combine 110g of plain white flour, 110g of strong white flour and half a teaspoon of salt in a large bowl
  3. Boil water, then dissolve 3g of fast action yeast in 110ml of the boiling water
  4. Stir the water and yeast mixture, then add to the flours and salt, then add 1 dessert spoon of olive oil to this mixture and mix to form a rough dough - the dough while look quite dry at this point but don't add any more liquid as it becomes more elastic as you knead it
  5. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 10 minutes then put the dough into a lightly oiled bowl, cover with cling film and leave in a warm room to rise for at least 2 hours
  6. While the dough is rising, cut half a white or red onion into half rings white a knob of butter is heating in a pan. Add the onions to the pan and fry until they begin to begin turn translucent. Add a few teaspoons of sugar to the onions to caramelize and set aside.
  7. Start preparing the garlic bread around 30 mins before you would like it to be served to ensure it is ready in time. Set oven to 180 degrees celsius, and cute a piece of baking parchment large enough to cover a baking tray which will fit a small pizza
  8. Knock risen dough back onto lightly floured surface and roll into desired shape and size, try and make the base as thin as possible . When the base is ready, transfer to the baking tray
  9. Melt 1 dessertspoon of your favorite butter in a microwave proof bowl for around 10 seconds, remove from heat, and add 4 large crushed cloves of garlic ( you may want to add more to suit your needs as the taste of garlic in this recipe isn't overpowering) , stir into butter with fork and return to microwave for around 5 seconds. When the mixture is completely melted, pour evenly over the pizza base
  10. Add the caramelized onions, thyme and a thin layer of cheddar cheese to the base
  11. Cook for 7-10 mins, or until the crust is golden brown.

Recipe Summary

  • 6 fluid ounces lukewarm water
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups bread flour
  • 1 teaspoon white sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast

Place the ingredients into the pan of a bread machine in the order recommended by the manufacturer. Close the lid, select the Dough cycle, and press Start.

When the machine signals the end of the cycle, remove the dough and knead into a tight ball on a lightly floured surface. Let rest for about 15 minutes.

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Stretch the dough out to fit your desired pizza pan. Let rise for about 20 minutes for a thicker crust.

Top with sauce, cheese and desired pizza toppings. Bake for 10 to 20 minutes in the preheated oven, or until the crust is lightly browned on the bottom when you lift up to take a peek.

Preparation

Step 1

PIZZA DOUGH:
In a large mixing bowl, preferably that of a stand mixer, stir yeast and honey into warm water.

Sit for 5 to 10 minutes or until bubbles form and mixture starts to foam. This tells you that the yeast is alive and kicking.

Pour in salt, oil and half the flour and mix. Once that flour is incorporated, start adding flour in bit by bit until you get the pizza dough to the consistency you want: slightly tacky, but when you touch it it doesn't stick to your hands.

Once you reach this stage, turn the mixer on high to knead for 6 minutes. Turn a timer on and walk away! Resist the temptation to stop earlier than 6 minutes! That seems to be the magical number.

The dough should be smooth and easy to work with and the bowl should be clean! Lightly grease the bowl & the dough so it doesn't dry out, cover with plastic wrap and let it rise 1to 2 hours.

CHEESY GARLIC BREAD STICKS:
Preheat oven to 500°F with pizza stone inside.

Mix butter and garlic in a small bowl and set aside. Spread pizza dough out into a 12-inch circle on parchment paper. (This makes it easier to transfer to the pizza stone.)

Spread the butter and garlic mixture over dough and top with parmesan and mozzarella cheeses.

Top with a light sprinkling of salt and pepper, if desired.

Bake 9 to 10 minutes or until bubbly and golden. Remove from oven and cool 1 to 2 minutes before cutting. Serve hot, with marinara.

Cheesy Garlic Pizza Bread

We often use this recipe at Gozney HQ as a way of using up leftover ingredients however whilst this pizza bread may be simple to make, it really is the king of sides…or is equally as delicious on its own!

Step 1

Chop up (or crush) 3-4 garlic cloves as small as possible and mix with around 100g of butter until you have a smooth garlic butter paste.

Step 2

Stretch out a dough ball into your pizza base and drop small spoons of garlic butter over the dough – be careful not to spread this as it could tear the base!

Step 3

Add some mozzarella to the base (as little or as much as you like!) and sprinkle over one more finely sliced garlic clove.

Step 4

Grind over some fresh black pepper and cook the pizza in Roccbox, turning every 30 seconds or so for an evenly baked crust and dig in!

Here is what you need:

Step 1: Cut loaf of bread in half lengthwise. Preheat oven to 425F.

Step 2: Place each piece of bread cut-side down and place a large baking sheet on top. Press down firmly on bread to flatten as much as possible.

Step 3: Place each loaf of flattened bread on the baking sheet. With a knife, cover the cut-side of the bread with butter using about 1 1/2 Tbsp per piece. Then sprinkle 1/4 tsp garlic salt over the butter on each loaf.

Step 4: Next, top the butter and garlic salt with 1/2 cup of shredded mozzarella divided between the two pieces. Bake in the oven for 7-8 minutes or until cheese is slightly melted. Remove from oven.

Step 5: Top the melted cheese with pizza sauce. You will probably only use half the jar.

Step 6: At last, top the &ldquopizzas&rdquo with the remaining cheese and, if desired, additional toppings such as meat and veggies.

Step 7: Bake the finished pizzas for an additional 10 minutes or until cheese is melted and slightly browned. Serve warm and cut into slices with a pizza cutter.

Pizza Monkey Bread

Pizza Monkey Bread is an Italian appetizer stuffed with pepperoni, mozzarella cheese, and garlic all in a Bundt pan. If you love pizza, you’ll love this Pizza Monkey Bread made with biscuits and marinara sauce for dipping.

PIZZA MONKEY BREAD

The Super Bowl is Sunday. I feel like I want to say Super Bowl over and over because brands and companies aren’t allowed to use the word “Super Bowl” because of copyright laws.

Instead they have to say “The Big Game” whenever referring to the Super Bowl.

But since I have my own blog here I’m allowed to say it all I want. And start sentences with “And” and “But” which is horrible grammar. So Super Bowl, Super Bowl, Super Bowl. Take that.

We like to do our own version of Prop Bets for the Super Bowl. Will Donald Trump come? What song with Justin Timberlake sing first?

Will Pink’s hair be pink or some other color when she sings the national anthem?

As far as food, these are what I will probably end up making: Buffalo Chicken Macaroni and Cheese, BLT Dip, Jalapeno Popper Pigs in a Blanket, Jalapeno Popper Dip, and the Best Bean Dip. Or some version of that.

Per my husband’s request, something pizza flavored. Pizza rolls, stuffed pizza rolls, or this pull apart Pizza Monkey Bread. What are you guys making??

HOW TO MAKE PIZZA BREAD

You can make your pizza dough from scratch but I like the way that biscuits puff up and saves me a lot of time.

WHAT IF I DON’T HAVE A BUNDT PAN?

You can make this Pizza Monkey Bread in a 9吉 dish. You may have to adjust your baking time to less time but you can totally do it.

CAN I PREPARE THIS MONKEY BREAD AHEAD OF TIME?

You can bake it ahead of time and reheat. I wouldn’t prepare the raw biscuits with the mixture and let it sit in the fridge overnight because the biscuits start to get a weird texture.
