whole grain tortilla or wrap, about the size for a burrito (not taco)
tablespoons mashed avocado
slices of turkey, I like mesquite roasted flavor
slices baby swiss cheese
slices center cut bacon, cooked and crumbled
cup shredded romaine lettuce
cup thinly sliced cherry or grape tomatoes
salt and pepper, to taste
Spread the mashed avocado on the tortilla or wrap, leaving a 1 inch edge all around. Top with turkey, cheese, lettuce, bacon, and tomatoes. Season with salt and pepper, if desired.
Starting on one end, tightly roll the wrap. Then, slice the tightly rolled wrap into 1 to 1 1/2 inch sections. Secure each section with a tooth pick.

- 2 low-carb tortillas or wraps
- 2 tablespoons whipped cream cheese
- ½ cup baby spinach leaves
- 2 slices Swiss cheese
- 4 slices leftover turkey
- 12 red bell pepper strips
- 12 snap peas
- 12 baby carrots
- 12 baby carrots
- 2 matchstick carrots, cut into 12 equal pieces
- Lay tortillas on a cutting board and spread 1 tablespoon of cream cheese onto each tortilla.
- Layer half of the baby spinach, 1 slice of Swiss cheese, and 2 slices of turkey onto each tortilla.
- Roll tortillas from one end to the other. Cut each roll into 6 sections. Secure each section with a toothpick.
- On a serving platter, arrange carrots, snap peas, and red bell pepper strips to resemble 12 sets of turkey feathers.
- Place one pinwheel on top of each of the veggie clusters.
- Poke a small piece of matchstick carrot into each grape tomato to resemble a turkey’s beak. (You may need to use a sharp knife to poke a hole into the tomatoes.)
- Place a grape tomato onto each pinwheel to resemble the turkey’s head.
- Serve immediately or cover in plastic wrap and refrigerate until ready to serve.

Pinwheels are a super simple deli lunch you can easily make at home and turn into meal prep! Check out my tips to help you make the BEST Easy Turkey Pinwheels Meal Prep!!
Each meal prep contains:
- Laughing Cow spreadable cheese wedges (light!) – 2 wedges per serving
- Or .75 oz pesto cream cheese (or plain)
- Or 1 TB mayonnaise/mustard
- 3 – 4 slices turkey deli meat, thinly sliced (about 4 oz per serving)
- 1 slice of cheese (optional – see notes for my favorite pinwheel combos)
Meal Prep Sides (pictured):
- 1 oz nuts such as almond or cashews or a mix
- as many berries as can fit into your meal prep container
- Lay your flatbread or tortilla flat on a cutting board or other clean surface. Spread your condiment on first, being sure to cover the ENTIRE flatbread surface. Laughing Cow spreadable cheese wedges work really well – they are low calorie (the Light kind), taste great, and do not make the pinwheel soggy. You can use mayo and mustard, but your pinwheel may become soggy if it’s stored for more than 24 hours. Cream cheese also works, but it has more calories.
- Next, arrange your deli meat slices flat on the tortilla, covering about 2/3 of the surface (please see the detailed photo in the post above). Leave 1/3 of the tortilla covered with your condiment only.
- Add a slice of cheese if you want, then add your greens to the middle of the flatbread forming a line from edge to edge (please see the picture if this is confusing!).
- Begin rolling the pinwheel from the meat covered side, using both hands and rolling tightly. The greens may try to escape, but just use your fingers to tuck them in as you roll.
- Cut the roll up into 5 pieces, and arrange in your meal prep container. Portion some berries and nuts to complete the meal! Prep up to 3 servings at once and store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
NOTE: These instructions make ONE meal prep lunch – just keep prepping more if you want more! Since these are made one at a time, it’s easy to prep as little or as many as you want. I would recommend prepping these only up to 3 days in advance.
My favorite pinwheel flavor combos: 1) Two wedges of Laughing Cow spreadable cheese (35 calories each) as the condiment, 3-4 pieces of turkey, and some spinach. FAVORITE and easiest combo. 2) One wedge of Laughing Cow spreadable cheese, a small amount of my favorite mustard, 3 pieces of turkey, spinach, and one slice of cheddar cheese. 3) Pesto cream cheese, 3 slices of turkey, romaine, tomato and a slice of provolone (detailed recipe here).

How do you make Cracked Out Turkey Pinwheels?
I can say that I am a big lover of garlic! And, I try to add it in my every possible meal, in meat or fish dishes, in all kinds of marinades, salted pies, canapes or even in most kinds of Pinwheels I am making. First, I start with vegetables. For this homemade Cracked Out Turkey Pinwheels, I use half of the avocado and 4 cherry tomatoes. I cut them in medium size. Then I prepare the cream cheese mixture by chopping 1-2 cloves of garlic (it depends how much you love it and the size of the cloves). Then I take some dill and chop it too. In a small bowl, I mix 8 oz (1 pack) of softened cream cheese with chopped garlic and dill. The fresh smell from the dill and just chopped flavorful garlic will give to your cream cheese mixture an unbelievable taste. On the inside part of the tortilla, I grease this cream cheese mixture and then I start laying with 3 leaves of salad. Then I continue assembling Pinwheels by arranging one by one of the remaining ingredients: 6-8 slices of turkey ham (depends on size), half slices of avocado, 3 slices of Cheddar cheese and tomatoes. Then, I roll up the Turkey Pinwheels tightly making sure that it holds together and keeps the shape. Before cutting in slices, I recommend refrigerating the turkey pinwheel for at least half an hour, in order to cut it properly and nicely. When Turkey Pinwheels are ready for serving cut them into 1-inch slices.
- 8 ounces cream cheese, low-fat (garlic and herb)
- 6 flour tortillas (8 inch)
- 6 slices turkey (low sodium, 6 ounces)
- 3 Roma tomatoes (medium, chopped)
- 3 cups baby spinach leaves (fresh)
1. Place tortillas on microwaveable plate or paper towel microwave uncovered on HIGH 10 - 15 seconds to soften.
2. Spread about 2 Tablespoons cream cheese over each tortilla. Top with a slice of turkey, chopped tomatoes and spinach.
3. Roll up lightly then wrap in plastic wrap. Refrigerate 2 - 3 hours to blend flavors. Cut each roll into eight 1-inch slices. Arrange with cut side down on serving plate.

These Crack Turkey Pinwheels are great to prepare for parties. You can make many pieces in just a short amount of time. They look pretty on plates and are of the perfect size for cocktail parties, or any types of events.
It features the signature flavors of the ranch, bacon, and cheese. They go so well with chicken and in this recipe, I use another kind of poultry, which is the turkey.
They are great to serve as appetizers or snacks at your parties, picnics, game day, movie night, or even in kids’ lunchboxes. They are so good they can be served as a main dish.
What is a pinwheel?
This dish takes inspiration from a kind of a child’s toy that spins or rotates when you blow on it. For a recipe like this, a spinning pattern just like the toy unveils when you cut the wrap.
Hence, people also call it a wrap or sometimes a roll-up since you will need to roll the tortilla before cutting it into smaller pieces.
What do you need to make crack turkey pinwheels?
This recipe calls for minimal ingredients, and you probably have some of these already at home. If not, then, include the following in your grocery list:
Turkey Pinwheels Recipe
Turkey Pinwheels are one of Hubby’s favorite things to have in his lunch. They are super easy to make and are a great alternative to sandwiches. I also like to make them whenever we have a get together. They were a big hit at G’s birthday party!
Recipe for Turkey Pinwheels
- 1 large flour tortilla
- 1 cheese slice, torn in half
- 1 thin slice turkey
- Lay tortilla flat
- Add remaining ingredients on top of each other, in this order - mayo, cheese, lettuce, turkey, tomato. Try to keep everything in a line from one side of the tortilla to the other.
- Starting at the bottom, roll the tortilla up tightly.
- Trim off ends.
- Secure with toothpicks, spaced out as evenly apart as possible.
- Cut in between toothpicks with a knife.
A couple of general notes about how to make a pinwheel:
- I often use whole-wheat tortillas for pinwheel recipes, but you can use any type of tortilla you prefer.
- Before cutting the pinwheels, I usually refrigerate the rolled-up tortillas. This allows them to firm up, resulting in a prettier presentation.
- Get creative! Turn your favorite recipe into a delicious pinwheel appetizer. Some examples include: reuben pinwheels, greek salad pinwheels, jalapeño popper pinwheels, etc.
Turkey and Cheese Pinwheels (Meal-Prep Idea)
Turkey, cheese, lettuce and cream cheese rolled up in tortillas and cut into bite size pinwheels. These little snacks are super quick and easy to make and are perfect as a snack or a lunch box meal. If you haven&rsquot jumped on the meal-prep wagon, this is a great time to do so. Ever since I started meal prepping, my days are going much smoother and I&rsquove been able to avoid fast food and save lots of money as well.
These meal prep turkey and cheese roll ups are great if you&rsquore a beginner or just want a quick no fuss snack. They come together in under 5 minutes and make a great lunch or snack.
It all begins with a soft tortilla. Whole wheat, flour or veggie tortillas are all great options, just make sure the tortillas are super soft. The next step is the creamy layer or cream cheese. Regular cream cheese will do but if you want to go the extra step, try using Crystal Farms® Garden Veggie Cream Cheese.
The cream cheese is then topped with a leaf of lettuce, two slices of turkey, two slices of cheddar cheese and rolled up into a log and sliced into pinwheels.
I like to use Crystal Farms® Cheese Cheddar cheese. It&rsquos a great company out of Lake Mills, WI. They produce great cheeses with few preservatives, are a rich source of calcium, and all products are gluten-free and lactose tolerant!
What is a club sandwich?
- Traditionally speaking, a club sandwich is made from meat, mayonnaise, tomato, and lettuce. Instead of being just one layer, it is two. You’ll commonly see them cut into fourths and held together by a fancy toothpick with a frilly plastic pompom thing on the end.
Bread and meat can vary. You’ll see it made with bacon, which is also known as a BLT when only one layer, or made with thinly sliced turkey or chicken. It can even (prepare to have your mind blown) be made with multiple types of meat!
I prefer my club sandwiche recipe to have two types of meat. It adds to the sophistication of the otherwise simple meal. I usually choose bacon and smoked turkey. The smooth smokiness of the turkey pairs well with salty and slightly chewy bacon bits. Texturally and flavor-wise, you just elevated your average club sandwich.
Making it even easier to eat, and even better for parties, potlucks, school lunch and other gatherings, I’ve made mine into a pinwheel. Club Sandwich Pinwheels lose the signature “double layer” but that is all made up for in the convenient two-bite finger food.
Here are a few pieces of advice for making any pinwheel sandwich, but especially a Club Sandwich Pinwheel.
Lavash Pinwheels Recipe
Now that warmer weather is upon us, a lot of us will be starting to spend our weekends outdoors. My family loves to be outside doing things. We spend many weekends visiting state parks, and camping.
Because of our fondness for camping and all things outdoors, we love food that can be made ahead, stores well, and travels easily. Most people would say, "SANDWICH!", but not us. Oh no. We require much more delicious than your standard run of the mill PB&J or ham and cheese.
So let me give you the down low on what's in these dizzy little yummies.
Thinly sliced deli meats of your choice, we use pepperoni, ham, and turkey
Thinly sliced cheese, we use provolone
Red pepper, cut into strips, and roasted
Garlic and Herb cream cheese, room temp is best
Lay out a piece of the lavash bread, and spread a thin layer of the cream cheese across the entire surface. Start at one of the short edges and begin laying out the meat, single layer, from long edge to long edge. Repeat next to it with next meat, but leave a gap for the red pepper. So on, with the remaining meats, cheese, lettuce, and fill in between with the red pepper strips. Here's a rough diagram:
Now, grab the side with the meat, and carefully, but tightly (not too tight), roll towards the lettuce.
After it's rolled up, grab a good sharp knife and slice it at about one inch intervals. If you pack them side by side, open edge towards the one your putting it beside, it will hold them closed. They will "set up" in the fridge and will stay rolled when separated. We put them in a square or rectangular lided plastic bowl, with sheet of waxed paper between layers. Pack 'em in tight, and they can take abuse of the bowl being shaken around in a cooler or lunch bag, and still be as pertty as you packed 'em. Of course, they are also great for at home!
One of my favorite things about Lavash Pinwheels, is that the possibilities are endless. You can put just about anything in them that you would like. My husband likes them with horseradish spread, roast beef, and cheddar cheese. My personal favorite is spreadable swiss cheese, roasted chicken breast, and Canadian bacon.
