Wahlberg Brothers Sue Wahlburger Business Partner

Wahlberg Brothers Sue Wahlburger Business Partner

The lawsuit claims Edward St. Croix is 'incompetent and unqualified'

Well, let's just assume that a Wahlburger expansion isn't happening soon; the Boston Globe reports that the Wahlberg brothers (Mark, Paul, and Donnie) might make good entertainment choices, but are regretting their decision to hire a certain Edward St. Croix.

The Wahlbergs are reportedly suing St. Croix, their former business partner, for misrepresenting himself. The lawsuit claims that while St. Croix "represented himself as having had significant experience with the start-up and management of several business enterprises," in practice the business partner was "incompetent and unqualified." Harsh words.

St. Croix, the lawsuit alleges, was unable to handle issues including bookkeeping, obtaining licenses and permits, and raising capital, causing the burger business to rack up "substantial fees."

As it turns out, not much else is looking up for Wahlburgers; Grub Street notes that the burger restaurant's CEO Rick Vanzuro (who was brought over from Panera) was recently arrested for operating a vehicle under the influence when he was found slumped over his steering wheel and reportedly "reeking" of alcohol.

Hungry for a Wahlburger? Mark Wahlberg and brothers hope so!

Which Wahlberg wants a Wahlburger? Paul, Donnie and Marc Wahlberg all do!

Paul, Donnie and Mark Wahlberg are going into the burger business. The trio of brothers have decided to open up shop in Hingham, Massachusetts and have gone out of their way to obtain ‘Wahlburgers’ for their restaurant name.

Business partner Ed St.Croix explains, “It just works. It’s a good-sounding brand we could put out the product with, a great name people could relate to.”

But you see, while Wahlburgers is a natural fit for the Wahlberg brothers, it also made perfect sense when used by New York burger chain Tom Wahl’s. One of their specialties was known as the ‘Wahlburger.’ Lucky for our trio of restaurateurs all sides have come to an arrangement allowing them “full spectrum” use of the moniker.

Relieved to have it all worked out Ed commented, “We were definitely surprised. It was a thing we had talked about for several years. Working with the people out in New York, they were fantastic. It worked out well for both sides.”

Wahlbugers won’t be the first foray for Donnie, Paul and Mark Wahlberg into the restaurant business. The group own an Italian restaurant, Alma Nove, named after their mother located in the same area.

In addition to Italian and burgers, the Wahlbergs have their sights set on a pizzeria next spring.

Will Mark Wahlberg Open a Restaurant in England?

Mark Wahlberg has told reporters that he will open some Wahlburger restaurants in England and Ireland this year.

In an interview with the UK Metro Newspaper, the actor said: "We’re opening a bunch of them in Britain and Ireland this year." And why not? His first burger joint in Hingham, Massachusetts, has proven to be a huge success since he opened it with his brothers and business partners, Donnie and Paul.

As Wahlberg said: "A successful burger place takes maybe $2,400 a day. A really successful one does $6,000. We’re making $17,000 a day. There are lines queuing around the corner."

Mark's brother, Paul, is the lesser known Wahlberg sibling but has had a successful career as a chef working at the Four Season Hotel and more recently opening his own Italian restaurant Alma Nove.

But don't get too excited just yet, as it seems the famous Wahlburgers might not be available in the UK so soon. Mark may have got a little bit too enthusiastic in his interview with Metro with a number of reports online are suggesting that big brother Donnie has denied claims of Wahlburgers opening any new locations in the near future.

We're not sure who to believe on this one but we can't wait to taste their burgers and find if it's the Wahlberg name or a special burger sauce making their place almost three times more profitable than the compeitition.

9. He’s always ferocious about his fitness

Known for his ridiculously jacked arms, Wahlberg is no stranger to staying in excellent shape. In his July/August 2017 cover story, he talks about waking up at 4 a.m. each morning, hitting the gym for an hour, and fitting in an hour of “cardio golf. “We’re always busy we always play fast. It got started while I was in training on Transformers: Age of Extinction,” Wahlberg says. “I’d hit the ball and just sprint to it.”

Wahlburgers At Home Adds Bacon and Hot Dog Line

Wahlburgers, the casual dining restaurant and bar founded by brothers Mark, Donnie and Chef Paul Wahlberg, has collaborated with Coleman Natural Foods, pioneers in all-natural beef, pork, chicken, and poultry products, to add a hot dog and bacon line to the Wahlburgers At Home portfolio. Both items are uncured, all-natural, and sourced from livestock humanely raised in the USA with no antibiotics or hormones, ever.

“Our goal has always been to continuously expand our retail product line beyond burgers and bring our fans delicious offerings that they can enjoy with their families at home,” says Executive Chef Paul Wahlberg. “We are proud to partner with Coleman Natural Foods to introduce high quality, all-natural hot dog and bacon products for retail that we know our customers will enjoy. Like Wahlburgers, Coleman Natural Foods started with a working-class family and they too trace their roots back to their family’s kitchen table where the only star is the food.”

The 12-oz uncured hickory smoked bacon is sourced from U.S. family farms that are American Humane Certified™ and raise their hogs 100% crate free, never using antibiotics or growth promotants.

The 12-oz 8-count all-beef uncured hot dog product is 100% beef with no fillers, artificial ingredients or preservatives. Cattle sourced for the product are born and raised in the United States on an all-vegetarian diet and are never administered antibiotics or growth promotants.

Colorado-based Coleman Natural Foods has been wrangling livestock since 1875 and has established themselves as a pioneer and leader in all natural, USA-raised beef, chicken, and pork products. Their wide network of producers and manufacturers will allow Wahlburgers to provide great tasting, better-for-you products to Wahlburgers fans nationwide.

“My family has always sought to get humanely raised, all-natural meat on the table of every American family,” says Mel Coleman, Jr., 5th generation of the founding Coleman family. “The Wahlberg brothers have a loyal following of consumers who trust they would only recommend the best products around. We agree that there is no better feeling than sitting at the table together, sharing good food and a few laughs.”

The highly anticipated new items will be exclusively available for purchase in grocery stores nationwide just in time for the upcoming grilling season. Wahlburgers retail fans can also look forward to the brand debuting a line of pickles and additional fresh beef blends this spring.

Wahlburgers launched a new menu inspired by what the Wahlbergs ate growing up

By now, everybody knows about the Wahlberg brothers and their Hingham-based fast-casual-burger-joint-turned-reality-show-turned-global-sensation. The family-run franchise has locations popping up everywhere, with plans for so many more to come. And now the Wahlbergs are sharing their Dorchester roots along with their burgers.

Just this week, Wahlburgers launched a new menu that’s meant to showcase homemade-inspired dishes. With foods like ‘Mom’s Sloppy Joe’ and ‘Mac ‘n Cheese with Smoked Bacon,’ the new additions are influenced by meals the brothers grew up eating with the rest of the big family outta Dorchester.

“A lot of it is still going to be reminiscent of when we were kids,” executive chef Paul Wahlberg said. “That’s the reason for the mac ‘n cheese. Sloppy joe — that was a staple in our house always when we were kids.”

‘Mom’s Sloppy Joe’ is similar to the ones his mom, Alma, used to make. The Wahlburgers version, though, is an “updated” recipe, Wahlberg said, made with crispy onions, signature Wahl sauce, and cheesy sauce.

Wahlburgers’s new mac n’ cheese dish is also an “updated” take on a Wahlberg family favorite.

Wahlburgers’s new ‘Mom’s Sloppy Joe’

“For us, mac and cheese was really simple. It was literally milk and chopped cheese and pasta. You cook the pasta, put the milk in. We never had boxed mac and cheese as kids,” Wahlberg said. “There was not a lot of smoked mozzarella in my house.”

But this new menu version is indeed made with smoked mozzarella — and cheddar, American, and Parmesan. The four-cheese sauce is poured over penne tossed in water, which Wahlberg assured is the trick to keeping the pasta al dente. The plate is topped with smoked bacon and panko crumbs.
