Heat a saucepan over medium heat and add the oil. Add the chopped onion and cook for 4-5 minutes, until softened. Add the potatoes and the juice of the vegetable soup and simmer covered for 15-20 minutes. when the potatoes have softened. Add the drained peas and simmer uncovered for another 5 minutes.

Remove the pan from the heat and set aside ¼ from the amount of vegetables. The rest is passed together with the liquid from the pan until a fine paste is obtained. Season to taste, add 2 teaspoons of ground basil and mix. serve with bread and a few tablespoons of yogurt.

This pea soup with dumplings and chicken is a classic of Transylvanian cuisine. A soup of my childhood (from Cluj, Sibiu and Arad). It is made in summer, with fresh peas and chicken entrails (hearts, pipettes, bones, wing heads, chest carcasses). In the off-season it is made with frozen or canned peas. The dumplings are made of flour (like paprika) but smaller in size (like thicker rags). In our country they are called Nockerli or nokedli. See here how they are made.

At the end, the soup is sprinkled with freshly chopped dill and served with sour cream. A cheerful and colorful soup, especially tasty. I didn't have pipettes and hearts at hand, so I used 3 chestnuts. I also mentioned that I always put pieces of meat or bones in the freezer that & # 8222 fall & # 8221 from other dishes & # 8211 that's why! The bones give an intense and pleasant taste to any soup and it's a shame to throw them away. What can I say about how quickly this soup is prepared? In 40-45 minutes it is ready. If hearts and pipettes are used, their cooking time is a little longer (it can be shortened by cutting them into smaller pieces).

From the quantities below it results approx. 8-10 servings of pea soup with dumplings.

1 kg white potatoes, 4 eggs, 300 gr flour, 300 gr parmesan, 1 kg meat, mixture, 2-3 onions, 2-3 tablespoons oil, 1 dill, 1 bunch of parsley, 500 gr peas, 2 carrots, 1 celery, 1 bell pepper, 100 g butter, basil, lettuce, salt, pepper and paprika, tomato sauce for decoration, 1 head of garlic

Peel the potatoes, cut them into cubes and boil them in salted water for about 10 minutes. While the potatoes are boiling, we take care of the filling.

Chop 2 onions, fry in hot oil and add the minced meat. Mix well and season with pepper, salt, paprika. Leave on the fire for about 10 minutes. When ready, add dill and parsley, finely chopped, and after tempering, add an egg. Peel the carrots, celery and pepper. In a saucepan, put salted water to a boil, and when it starts to boil, add the peas together with the vegetables and a chopped onion. Boil for about 10 minutes.

Meanwhile, prepare the potato dough. Pass the hot potatoes, drained of juice. Add flour, 2 eggs and grated Parmesan cheese. Spread 4 sheets of about 20/20 cm and fill with minced meat and the rest of the ingredients. Place in a tray lined with baking paper and bake for about 20 minutes. After 10 minutes, remove, grease with beaten egg and leave for another 10 minutes.

Prepare the pea puree. After the peas have boiled, drain them, remove the other vegetables, add the butter and blend well, then pass through a sieve and introduce the mixer to give it creaminess. When the potato roll stuffed with minced meat is ready, cut it into smaller pieces and serve with pea puree. Add salad leaves for decoration and a little tomato sauce.

  • 500 g potatoes
  • 400 ml of soup
  • 150 g kaizer
  • 250 g boiled ham
  • 120 g sour cream
  • 2 leeks
  • 1 medium onion

How do we prepare the potato soup recipe with kaizer?

Wash the potatoes, peel them and cut them into cubes. Peel and chop the onions and leeks.

In a large non-stick pot, cook the kaizer until it becomes crispy and set aside. In the leftover fat, add the chicken soup and bring to the boil. Add the potatoes, leeks and onions and simmer for 20 minutes.

1 third of the vegetables are removed from the pot and the rest are crushed with a blender until it becomes like a cream soup. Add the rest of the vegetables back to the pot, diced ham and simmer a little. Remove from the heat and mix the cream. Do not boil after this step.

Presentation and service

Serve hot, with the pre-cooked kaizer on top.
